After Elmhurst, Ainslie worked on board cruise liners for six years, gaining the responsibility of Dance Captain or Company Manager on subsequent contracts. She progressed to conducting London based auditions, selecting cast members, rehearsing the cast and then installing the show/s onboard the ships. Thereafter Ainslie choreographed full dance numbers as part of the production shows.
